It took as a little while to decide on this years dates since the culture calendar in Iceland is pretty packed and Grundarfjörður has recently become overbooked with tourist for a large part of the year. We decided to move the festival dates closer to the fall so this years festival will be celebrated on the weekend of the 17th-19th of October.
We will open for entries in the beginning of may this year, closing the deadline on the 1st of July.
We are already very excited about this years festival and have started the preparations.

It looks like the weather will be good during the festival weekend, despite past days storms. The program is packed and there is still time to sign up for the workshop with jury member Margaret Glover and the fish course competition by signing up or sending an email to email@example.com.
For the first time ever we are charging an entrance fee for the festival. The fee has been kept at a the lowest price possible, only 2.500 kr for the whole festival, including screenings and events. You can purchase the festival bracelet at the Samkomuhús coffeshop, where most of the screenings take place. Everyone participating in the fish course competition gets a free bracalet as well as all directors/representatives of film at the festival. The award for the fish course competition is a tasting menu for two at Reykjavík’s finest restaurant Fish Market.
